Waste Control Specialists (WCS) has completed the acquisition of the Alaron nuclear services facility in Wampum, Pennsylvania effective December 31, 2025.
The acquisition expands WCS’s national footprint and strengthens its capabilities to safely manage and process a broad range of radioactive materials in support of U.S. nuclear power generation and decommissioning activities.
For more than 30 years, the Alaron site in Wampum, Pennsylvania, has been providing a range of specialty services to the nuclear industry. Strategically located near multiple utilities and other facilities in the nuclear industry, Alaron is an ideal site for storage, decontamination and refurbishment of equipment, processing of waste, and transloading of soils, debris and other low-level waste that are ultimately disposed of at low-level disposal sites.
