As a key position in the Radiation Safety Department (RSD) this position is responsible for general Health Physicist data review, validation, tracking, trending, and reporting duties for RSD with the Health Physicist concurrence/approval. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may receive occupational exposures to ionizing radiation that are As Low As is Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) and within regulatory limits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
• Approval for Routine, Job coverage, and Lapel air samples via EMRS system
• Air Sample dose assignments and documentation as applicable based on a set of given conditions.
• Compiling and trending of various radiological data, including:
• Managing the Performance Indicator Reports for occupational and environmental data.
• Issuing bioassays based on License requirements and as directed by the internal dosimeters.
• Performing the initial data validation on bioassay data.
• Assisting with the REMP:
o REMP Compliance/Tracking
o REMP results Management/ Importation of REMP/RACER Database
o Compiling monthly REMP reporting in the Performance Indicator Report
o Compiling and review of Semi-Annual REMP reports
o Compiling and review of Annual REMP reports
o Initial Radiological Environmental Data package Validation
o Initial Radiological Effluent Data package Validation
o Assisting with formulating IL/AL exceedance letters and follow up Investigation letters to the TCEQ
o Tracking of radiological discharges to POTW
o Tracking of radiological discharges to TPDES permits
• Reviewing and editing various reports, letters, and procedures as needed by supervision/management
• Assisting the Rad Safety Administrative Specialist as needed.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year documented experience in a progressive office environment and/or as the Radiation Safety Administrative Specialist; and documented experience and/or training in various office/data management software; or combination of education and experience per the discretion of the hiring manager.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, and individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Must possess strong organization skills and highly developed verbal and written communication skills including composition and grammar. Must possess the ability to work with senior managers to develop complex documents in a time constrained environment. Demonstrated ability to be detail oriented, interpret requirements, utilize Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software programs. Must have knowledge of conventional administrative practices. Must be able to multi-task.
